Leading

With Joy

Change is hard. To create a joyful workplace, you can’t continue to lead the way you’ve always led.

In this talk, Rich explores his own journey to joy, focusing on how he had to learn to lead in a completely different way and, by doing so, witnessed results that exceeded his wildest expectations.

Rich will discuss the simple, actionable things you can do to get your teams off the ground and flying. You will come away energized and inspired to start your own journey toward leading with joy tomorrow! And you will be firmly convinced that it is within your power to do so, no matter how big your organisation or how longstanding its culture.

Leading With Compassion in Healthcare

There is a widespread 'call to action’ to put compassion at the centre of how healthcare is delivered and led.

In her presentation, Bev Sutherland will explore the challenge of how to bring compassion to life in our people, teams and organisations. How to create environments where compassion can thrive and practices can be built to ‘reconnect’ people with the values and behaviours that underpin their work.

This is a wicked problem that demands a clumsy solution. It demands a new way of leading that sparks and unlocks the collective wisdom and releases oneself from the expectation that you will have all the answers. There is no silver bullet. Compassionate leadership needs a multi-faceted approach. Interventions can be targeted at the individual, the manager, the leader, the team, and the organisation but it usually must be targeted at all levels together for compassion to truly thrive.
